Chrysta Hayes's Quilt

Black & white & red quilt with a playful cat applique

Way to go Chrysta!

Chrysta Hayes made this beautiful quilt shown on the left from our pattern "MY PRECIOUS PET". She added a new twist for the cat lovers in her family. Instead of the scottie dog shown on the pattern front, she appliqued a playful cat.
Paula Pfau's Quilt

Bright flowered pinwheels on a pieced quilt

Great job Paula!

Paula Pfau made this quilt shown on the left from our pattern "PINWHEEL POSIES". Paula came to class while in Phoenix but completed this bright and cheery quilt after she moved away.

We miss you, Paula!

YOU GIRLS ROCK!!!

THANK YOU ALL
FOR SHARING!

Kay B. is a wonderful friend of mine. She made this special "H" is for Hawaii" quilt with fabrics she purchased in Hawaii. It's a super special quilt full of fond memories! She even had some sea turtle honu fabric to use for the borders. The quilt is sparkling & bright just like Kay.

It's beautiful, Kay!
Thank you for sharing it with us.

Marge B., a good quilting friend of mine, made this spectacular quilt. It is "Pinwheel Flurry" made from the pattern in Better Homes and Gardens American Patchwork & Quilting magazine, April 2005. This is quite an accomplishment!

Appliqued pinwheel quilt made with a variety of 1930's reproduction fabrics

Congratulations Marge!

Don't be deceived by the size of the picture. The actual quilt Marge made is king size. Each block is 16" square and has nine applique pieces on an eight piece background. The sashing is all pieced and the cornerstones are small pieced pinwheel's with twelve pieces in each of the 36 cornerstones.
Judy O'Dannel is a great friend and quilting buddy of mine. She made this quilt for her third granddaughter.
Way to go, Judy!

Judy's quilt was made using the pattern "Crazy Eights" (#460) by Bits 'n Pieces. You can order this pattern at www.bitsnpieces.net. Photograph used by permission of Judy O'Dannel and Julie of Bits 'n Pieces.

Brightly colored patchwork quilt with multi-sized block pieces

Don't you just love the giant ric rac!

Both the front and back of Judy's quilt is cozy flannel. What a lucky little princess her grandbaby is! Soft flannel quilt back
Brightly colored crazy quilt with fancy borders Jody Beck is one of my very best friends. She designs and writes quilt patterns. These two quilts are just a sampling of the beautiful quilts she has designed. To the left is her "May Pole Beginning" quilt from her "In the Beginning" pattern. To the right is her "Seaside Retreat" quilt from the pattern by the same name. Thanks so much Jody for sharing these with us.
In October 2008 Jody had two quilts in the national Paducah quilt show in Des Moines, IA.

One of my best friends, Jan, makes the most adorable Sock Monkeys ever. You'll have to visit Jan and all the folks at "Sock Monkey Ranch".

Did you know that 2009 is going to be the Year of the Sock Monkey? Read all about it down at the ranch. Here's one she made for me.

Purple red-heel sock monkey in a seatbelt on an airplane This is "Jassy" (pronounced Jazzy, short for Jasmine.)Jassy recently went on a trip with me. It was her first plane ride so she was excited. Jassy met a new friend, Joyce. Joyce is much older, but she loves to play. They're kinda like cousins.

Jassy & Joyce went to the park. They had fun playing in the falling leaves.

They played "Hide and Sneak" until it got dark.

Then they snuggled on a park bench sharing their warm shawls until time to go home. They were ready for some hot chocolate.

When they got back to her house, Joyce shared her favorite book with Jassy.

Then they had a sleepover. What fun it is to have a new friend!
It was the best time ever!!!

Now it's time for Jassy to leave. She fondly says goodbye to her new best friend.
Isn't God good!
Lynn Maynard is a long-time student and friend of mine. The quilt to the right is her very first quilt which she made for a special friend using the theme "Rain Forest."
Cheered on by several friends and teachers, Lynn decided to enter it in the fair.

Lynn's quilt won 1st PLACE in the Maricopa County Fair.

Lynn chose the Orange Peel Design from www.chantells-creations.com and animals in pajamas from www.emblibrary.com and www.anita-goodesign.com

Fat Quarter Quilts

On the left is a jumbo bag Fat Quarter Bag Lynn made. She bought the fabric several years ago in Hawaii and didn't wanted to cut it because of the beautiful, big flowers so she added solid fat quarters to make a jumbo tote to carry to class. The pattern is "Fat-Quarter Bag" from the book Fat Quarter Quilts by M'Liss Rae Hawley published by That Pacthwork Place. Below is a free standing lace bowl Lynn made. Pattern unknown.

Dee is a friend of mine and a member of one of my classes. She made these two quilts, "Mountain View" & "Prairie Window". She's really a "go getter!" She made the "Mountain View" quilt to the right before I actually had the pattern written.
You go girl!

Notice how she "personalized" the borders. Good job, Dee!
